About Us
Dr. Roger Kodel established Hunter Animal Hospital in 1992, to serve clients and their pets, mainly in the West Valley area. At that time, one doctor and one staff member serving as both receptionist and doctor's assistant handled all the phone calls, appointments and surgeries. Dr. Kris Van Zomeren joined the staff in 1993, followed by her husband Dr. Mike Van Zomeren
in 1998. Over the next several years, clients began coming from all over the Salt Lake Valley, as well as Tooele County. The practice outgrew its original location and began construction of a new facility. In 2005 we moved into our new state of the art building, allowing us to expand services even further.
Hunter Animal Hospital is now staffed with 4 full time doctors, 3 part time doctors, 5 receptionists, 9 veterinary technicians and 2 kennel attendants.
